Et tout devint noir /// And all went black

Fragmented , multi-faceted  and impenetrable: the faces of Jesse Draxler are a reflection of our souls, complex, fragile and intimate. The American artist takes as basis simple black and white photographic portraits, that he works and reworks via cutting and paint, to sculpt tormented works. Varying from slightly disturbing dreams to nightmarish faceless figures, the works captivate thanks to their torment, their melancholy and their infinite poetry.
